Brathwaite, who is the youngest of the small Barbadian track contingent, has been a promising junior athlete for a number of years ,winning medals at both the regional and international level .
Having just switched over from the junior level, he actually qualified for the 110m hurdles as a junior at the Pan American Games in Brazil earlier this year.
