Trinidad & Tobago's athletes put on a good show
It was a busy day for Trinidad and Tobago's athletes in Beijing as 9 local athletes were in competition.
The exciting Sprint relays got underway and T&T's men 4x100 team impressed in the opening round.
Running out of lane 8 the quartet of Keston Bledman on the 1st leg Marc Burns on the straight away Aaron Armstrong on the bend and anchor man Richard Thompson finished the lap in 38.26 seconds.
It is the 3rd appearance in a final for Trinidad and Tobago at these games.
Trinidad and Tobago lines up in lane 4 next to favourites Jamaica in lane 5 in tomorrow's final which is scheduled to kick off just after 10 o' clock tomorrow morning. (TT time)
Trinidad and Tobago's foursome of Wanda Hutson Kelly-Ann Baptiste Ayanna Hutchinson and Semoy Hacket fumbled the baton in the women's 4x100m opening round.
The T&T girls ran well throughout and was second to Jamaica after three legs but messed up in the final handover between Hutchinson and Hacket.
Also today the mens 400 meter final saw a courageous effort by T&T's Renny Quow.
Running out of a lane number 2 Quow never figured in the race managing a modest 7th place finish in a time of 45.22 seconds. The race was won by American LaShawn Merritt and the pre race favorite Jeremy Wairner had to settle for 2nd place.
