SILVER FOR TRINIDAD & TOBAGO SILVER FOR TRINIDAD & TOBAGO

Trinidad and Tobago's 4x100m men's relay team fullfilled their dreams earlier today and copped the silver medal crossing the line on the heals of the Jamaican'c world record breaking gold medal at the Bird Nest stadium in Beijing.

The team consisted of Marc Burns, Keston Bledman, Emmanuel Callender & 100m Olympic silver medalist Richard Thompson who ran the 4th leg.  In a race that saw yet another world record fall Thompson had some catching up to do following a somewhat slow start and one unstable baton pass, however the team was able to finish the race in a time of  38.06, bringing Trinidad and Tobago's Olympic medal tally to two.

This is the first Olympic medal for all four men and the first for Trinidad and Tobago in the men's 4x100m relay at the Olympic Games.
