Caribbean men qualify for 100-m quarter finals »

Several Caribbean athletes booked their places in the men's 100-m quater final which will take place later today at the World Championships in Berlin, Germany.

Daniel Bailey of Antigua advanced by winning his heat in 10.26 seconds. Also advancing is Adrian Griffiths of Bahamas (10.37), Churandy Martina from Netherlands Antilles (10.26),  Marc Burns from Trinidad (10.39) and his team mates Emmanuel Collinder (10.24) and Richard Thompson (10.36).

Also advancing are Andrew Hinds from Barbados (10.30) and Adam Harris from Guyana (10.35).

Two Caribbean women also advanced to the semi-finals of the women's 400-m. In addition to the two Jamaicans, Novlene Williams-Mills and Shericka Williams, Indira Terrero of Cuba advanced with a time of 51.98 and Aliann Pompey of Guyana in 51.38 secs.
