Eight Caribbean Women advance to 100m semi-finals »
The Caribbean will be well represented in the women's 100m semi-finals as all four Jamaicans, two Bahamians, and two Trinidadians all advanced to the next round after placing in the top three of their quarterfinals at the World Championships in Berlin, Germany.
Kerron Stewart won the first heat in 10.92 while Chandra Sturrup of the Bahamas came second and Semoy Hackett of Trinidad was third.
Aleen Bailey came second in the second heat 11.12 finishing behind American Lauryn Williams.
Veronica Campbell Brown, won heat three in 10.99, Debbie Ferguson-McKenzie of the Bahamas was second in 11.08 and Muna Lee of the US came third in 11.13.
In the fourh and final quarterfinals Shelly-Ann Fraser placed second behind America's Carmelita Jetta while Kelly-Ann Baptiste of Trinidad finished third.
