Melanie Walker gets gold in 400m hurdles »
Jamaican Melaine Walker has won gold in the 400 metre hurdles with a championship record in 52.42 seconds a short at the 12th IAAF World Championships in Berlin, Germany. Lashinda Demus of the United States placed second while Trinidadian Josanne Lucas placed third in a new National record of 53.20. Fellow Jamaican and Walker's training partner Kaliese Spence placed fourth in a personal best time of 53.56.
