Jamaica to seek medals in women's 200m today »
Jamaica, who leads the medal table at the World Championships in Berlin, Germany, are strongly poised to increase their tally on today’s seventh day of action.
Three Jamaicans will line up in the women’s 200 metres at 2 o’clock this afternoon. They are Beijing Olympic champion Veronica Campbell-Brown, Anneisha McLaughlin and Simone Facey.
Campbell-Brown booked her place after a second place finish to Bahamian Debbie Ferguson-McKenzie in the first semi-final yesterday.
McLaughlin and Facey also finished second in their semi-final heats.
Jamaica surged top of the gold medal table yesterday following Usain Bolt’s record run in the 200-metre and Melaine Walker’s victory in the 400-metre hurdles final.
