Jamaica's final medal is silver »

Jamaica finished off its pursuits at the IAAF World Championships in Berlin, Germany with a silver medal in the women's 4x400m relays.

The team of Rosemarie Whyte, Novlene Williams-Mills, Sheerefa Lloyd and World Championship silver medalist Shericka Williams powered their way to a finish in 3:21.15

United States, who lead with a wide gap for most of the race was first, while Williams ran a fast last leg to move Jamaica from third place to second to secure the silver. Russia finished in third place to take the bronze.

This additional medal means Jamaica has surpassed its 12 medal haul at last year's Beijing Olympic Games.  However Jamaica is still second on the medal table behind the United States which has 20 medals so far. The United States will also contest the final event at the games, the men's 4x400m relay. Jamaica will not be in the event, as the team failed to qualify yesterday.

With the last event, Jamaica now has seven gold, four silver and two bronze medals.
