Kerron Stewart continues search for jackpot »

Jamaica’s Olympic and World sprint silver medallist Kerron Stewart continues her search for a share of the US$1 million Golden League Jackpot this afternoon in Switzerland.

Stewart will compete in the women’s 100 metres at the IAAF Weltklasse Zurich Golden meeting, which is the fifth of six Golden league events.

The race is scheduled to start at 1:45 Jamaica time.

Stewart is one of four athletes on course for a share of the Jackpot. The jackpot goes to athletes who win their event at all six meets.

The other athletes still on course for the jackpot are Kenenisa Bekele of Ethiopia in the 5,000 metres; Jamaican-born Sanya Richards of the United States in the 400 and Russian Yelena Isinbayeva in the pole vault.

The women’s 100 metres also feature two other Jamaicans. They are Olympic and World 100-metre gold medallist Shelly-Ann Fraser and Aleen Bailey.

The world’s fastest man Jamaican Usain Bolt will also be in action.

Bolt, who shattered his 100 and 200-metre world records at the World Championship in Berlin, Germany, will run in the 100 metres scheduled to start at 2:10.

His main competition should come from fellow Jamaican Asafa Powell, the former 100-metre world record holder.

The race also includes Jamaica’s Michael Frater and the American pair of Darvis Patton and Michael Rodgers.

Other Jamaicans down to compete are World Championship gold medallist Brigitte Foster Hylton, World championship bronze medallist Delloreen Ennis London; Olympic and World 400-metre silver medallist Shericka Williams, Novlene Williams-Mills, Maurice Wignall and Dwight Thomas.
