Jamaican Brigitte Foster-Hylton won the women’s 100-metre hurdles in 12.88 seconds at the IAAF Aviva British Grand Prix at Gateshead’s International Stadium earlier today. Foster-Hylton won ahead of Canadian Perdita Felicien, 12.95s and American Virginia Powell, 13.21s. Last Friday she delivered a world leading 12.46s to win at the Zurich Golden League meeting. In the men’s 110-metre hurdles, Jamaican Dwight Thomas was disqualified.  American David Payne won the race in 13.60s ahead of Britain William Sharman, who clocked 13.61 seconds. The other Jamaican in action, Mario Forsythe, clocked 10.35 seconds for third in the men’s 100-metre, which was easily won by American Tyson Gay in 10.15 seconds.
